Hemming Sealant - Alternative to Spot Weld
This epoxy resin-based adhesive is a single-component paste with good thixotropy, cures at temperatures between 150 and 200 degrees Celsius, and has good shear strength, making it a good alternative to welding joints. This product is used in body shops and can bond to oily metal and has excellent adhesion after application to metal. This paste, with appropriate resistance to washing agents and ED, will remain in the application area without slipping or creeping. It can be produced in two types: regular and with glass particles, and generally in yellow.
Application
This adhesive is used at the interface between the body metal and the supporting metal parts in the side doors, engine door, trunk lid, and roof in places where welding operations are not possible to connect the parts.
Key Features
• Heat resistance up to 200 degrees Celsius and no flow at high temperatures
• Resistant to temperature, humidity, chemicals and washing
• Shear strength with a thickness of 0.2 mm greater than 12 MPa
• Very high resistance to corrosion
